Character & Object Design Assignment : Redesign Characters from Voltron

This is Princess Allora - Turnaround and Expression Sheet

Media : Pencil, Ink, Prismacolored Marker on Bristol

Personal Feelings : My favorite of the girls, but she looks a little too much like Barbie (as said by my professor) but I love her dress design.

I think part of the Barbie look comes from the color scheme and the way you've drawn her hair. Makes me think back to the early issues of the Voltron comic (of the 11 Devil's Due put out) where they had Allura in black instead of pink. It was classy and not so "Barbie" ^.~ Of course, I don't know what your premise is here, too, so this might be just how you want her.

On a technical note, her mouth and nose are too far down her face in some shots, especially the bottom right. Have to be careful with those, as it might give her something od a simian appearance. ^.~

I chose her colors because I still wanted her to be recognizable as Allora (same with Haggar, even though she was changed drastically - but she still had the same colors). >growls at barbie<
