Please note that these are BASED on Illustrations by NeonDragon and I tried to keep to the illustrations as best as I possibly could; I'm sorry if I failed miserably
I did recieve her permission to do dolls based on her artwork as long as I linked to the original illustraions [which i would certainly do anyway] and I hope to do more; I have already dolled her JesterFairy...
These four dolls based on NeonDragon's Elemental Battle Fairies series; I did them in matching order of how she posts them on DA and her site [Fire, Water, Earth and Wind]
It took be about 3 to 5 hours per doll in Paint Shop Pro on my very own Mytu base [sorry dollers, the base isn't released yet]
The first three took no time at all to finish, but Wind did not seem to want to be completed. But HOLY COW, I finished.
I also added the little squares in the background for a nice matching touch to Neon's artwork. I've discovered a nice way to make nice, seemless gradients using a few colors.
I like the preview pic too. I try to do something different with my doll's previews.
Any ideas on any other art to doll? I do better dolls when I don't do them off the top of my head and base them on SOMETHING!
Very nicely done. I like that you tried (and did) to stay true to the pictures from Neondragon. Your technique is awesome.
